Cut Mail Clutter

Did you know that we receive the same amount of mail in two days that our parents received in two weeks and our grandparents in two months? Instead of letting it take over your home, take a few simple steps to get it under control.

Create a Mail System
First, take a deep breathe, look at your desk and holler “You don’t control me. I control you!” Once that is out of the way, get your mail center set up.

Create a place for incoming mail.
Place your shredder + recycling bin next to one another. A shredder is a must.
Use a box or drawer to for bills and throw them in there as they arrive.
Box up bank statements, investment communications and big packets of stuff you need to keep – don’t even bother with a file folder because it will get clogged right away
Clip It - Use a clipboard to catch all the items you need to act on.
Add a basket or magazine file box for catalogs + magazines.

Maintaining your system... It will only T.A.K.E. you 2 minutes!

T... Toss toss.recycle.shred.
A... Act pay.read.call.route elsewhere.enter
K... Keep file.put-away.decide
E... Edit remove.replace.adapt
